Film Description

Comfortably the most extreme of Dusan Makavejev's envelope-pushing experiments, rejected outright by the BBFC at the time and still pretty strong meat even today. Two intertwined stories fuse sex, death, food, excrement, revolutionary politics and the commodification of sexuality as the film tackles the limits of personal and political freedom with kaleidoscopic feverishness, shuttling viewers from a gynecological beauty pageant to a grotesque food orgy with scatological, taboo-shattering glee. The effect is both liberating and profoundly shocking.
