Dismal attempt at a disaster movie!
We probably all know that just such a disaster is quite possible but this "drama" was truly dreadful. Dragged out to boredom levels, totally predictable in its "disaster movie" mode and completely ludicrous in a number of its reconciliation scenes, dreadfully directed and badly written, it was memorable only for fine performances from David Suchet, Joanne Whalley and Tom Courtenay. Robert Carlyle did nothing to enhance his reputation, while the intensely irritating Jessalyn Gilsig turned in a totally mediocre performance in a desperately mediocre movie.
While I will always be happy to watch Mr Suchet and Mr Courtenay ply their trade, and it was a genuine delight to see Ms Whalley return to British screens with her immense talent and inate sense of timing, one can only wonder why they chose to appear in such a poor vehicle for their exceptional talents. < less
