Film Description

Travelling across the UK by way of its highest places, Griff Rhys Jones explores some of the country's most arduous and roughest mountain landscapes, looking at how they have helped shape the British peoples' history and culture. It is a journey that takes him from the remotest areas of Northern Scotland to Snowdonia in Wales, and includes some of Britain's most beautiful, rugged and fascinating locations. Along the way, he also reveals how these dramatic terrains came into existence. The five episodes look at North West Highlands, The Lakes, Central Scotland, Snowdonia and The Pennines.
