When fighting breaks out between settlers and natives, Pacer is pulled into violence despite his peace-making efforts. Love Me Tender (Robert D. Webb, 1956) Elvis made his film debut playing a Texas farmer in the aftermath of the Civil War. After hearing his older brother has been killed in combat he marries the man's sweetheart. His brother returns however, sparking a bitter sibling rivalry and tragic confrontations with Union soldiers. Elvis sings 'Love Me Tender, 'We're Gonna Move', 'Poor Boy' and 'Let Me' in one of his best movies. as the tagline had it - "You'll Love Him Tender in the Story He Was Born to Play!" Wild In The Country (Philip Dunne, 1961) Presley is the rebellious backwoods delinquent gifted with a rare literary talent. Hope Lange plays his sympathetic psychiatrist, while Tuesday Weld and Millie Perkins round out an all-star cast as his seductive cousin and childhood sweetheart.
