Film Description

A distinguished BBC drama that tells the story of the English Civil War of the 1640s as seen through the eyes of two families; the Laceys, loyal to King Charles I, and the Fletchers, loyal to Oliver Cromwell. Sir Martin Lacey is unmoving in his devotion to the King, so when his eldest daughter marries the son of a family supporting Cromwell's forces the seams of the Lacey family begin to tear.
