Bones (Season 2)Various (TV), 2006 Film DescriptionBones follows the investigations of Temperance 'Bones' Brennan (Emily Deschanel), a forensic anthropologist who attempts to identify corpses that are badly burned, decomposed or destroyed. She is frequently paired with Special Agent Seeley Booth (David Boreanaz) of the FBI's Homicide Investigations Unit to investigate cases. Temperence works at the Jeffersonian Institute and her special skill is the ability to read the clues left behind in the victim's bones, hence her nickname. This leads to her being contacted by the FBI to help with their cases. Booth frequently clashes with Brennan and her methods as he dislikes science and scientists, preferring instead traditional investigative work to solve cases. However, the combination of Brennan and Booth's different skills leads to them becoming an extremely effective partnership in solving cases. In some ways similar to CSI, Bones has proved to be a very successful show and displays a darkly amusing humour amongst the somewhat grim subject matter. The show takes its inspiration from books by Kathy Reichs, a best-selling novelist and real-life anthropologist who works as a consultant on the show. Ironically, Temperance Brennan is also an author, writing about the adventures of a fictional forensic anthropologist named Kathy Reichs.
