The summer of '66 and England is about to be consumed by World Cup Fever. With his Bar Mitzvah looming, 12 year-old Bernie has other thoughts on his mind. However, Bernie's family are increasingly distracted by the threat of losing their business and their wayward older son, and the scale of Bernie's personal event diminishes daily - and even more so when the World Cup Final is scheduled to take place on the same day.

About A Boy (Chris Weitz, 2002)

About A Boy, directed by Chris and Paul Weitz, stars Hugh Grant as Will Freeman, a proudly self-absorbed 38-year-old Londoner.Given Nick Hornby's excellent source material, About A Boy could have easily been an enjoyable movie, but in the hands of its talented collaborators, it's a truly exceptional tale.
