Film Description

Lee Miller’s son David Scherman, himself a renowned photographer, presents the biography of this exceptional woman who was a model, fine art photographer, acclaimed war correspondent and photojournalist. It is said of her that she "never wasted a minute of her life".

As well as producing some of the most powerful and notable photographs of the 20th century, from portraits of her friends in the French art world to her work as a correspondent with the US army in World War II when she photographed survivors of Dachau and Buchenwald concentration camps (photographs published in Vogue in 1945), she was also herself a model, notably for Vogue in the 1920s and then for surrealist artist and photographer Man Ray.
