Film Description

One of the most significant politicians of the 20th Century, the first and – to date – the only woman to have held the office of Prime Minister of the UK, Margaret Thatcher’s leadership of the Conservative Party took Britain out of the turbulent 1970s and into a period of war, strikes and increasingly polarised social division. Loved and hated in equal measure, by the early 1990s the knives were out and she was ousted from power in one of the most dramatic episodes in British political history.

Featuring a bravura performance from Sylvia Syms as Thatcher, this dramatised documentary also features powerhouse performances from John Wood, Trevor Bowen, Paul Daneman, Roland Oliver and Keith Drinkel as John Major.
