Film Description

Thomas (Ed Stoppard), a young German POW, is recruited by the Soviets and sent to London as a spy. Ordered to kill an unreliable contact (Bernard Hill), Thomas must decide whose side he is really on. As Thomas struggles with the ambiguities of Cold War morality, the film moves back and forth from the swinging 60s to the hell of the Eastern Front, in a provocative reminder of the ordeal suffered by many German civilians at the end of the war.
