Rising rapidly in esteem and cult status everywhere and rightly so - you don't get the status endowed by a BFI Modern Classic Film book lightly you know - still the only truly great film the current Governor of California OR director James Cameron is ever likely to make during our lifetime. Classic sci-fi with a head, tremendous pulsating plot mechanism, TECH NOIR nighclubs (oh James your debt to the greatest American crime genre was both inspired and seriously hip at the time) and an outstanding, pounding music score that still sends the hairs on the back of your neck up in salute in anticipation. All-round solid gold 80s cinema at it's stunning finest. < less
