Film Description

The first British Dogme film features many skilled but lesser-known supporting actors who at last get their chance to enact meatier roles. Father Ted's Pauline McLynn stars as the matriarch of a working-class family living in Margate. When her feckless daughter befriends a female Czech Romany refugee, tensions begin to show. An unrecognisable Rula Lenska plays the gypsy's mother in a film that has won awards across the world.
