Film Description

Kasdans first feature takes a James M. Cain-type noir plot and transfers it to steamy Florida circa 1980. The result, an outstanding thriller conveying a sense of place and weather and creating an unforgettable couple (Venus and the fly-trapped). Turner's debut performance is truly remarkable, a femme fatale as hot as the weather, and Hurt's deceived, and self-deceiving, stud is arguably his best performance.
