Film Description
Ellen Page gives an astonishing performance as the young teenager who entraps a potential paedophile and threatens to castrate him. But will she go through with her plan, and is he as guilty as she believes? A great script and a tense atmosphere make this one of the best American indies of the year, in spite of the controversy it engendered.

Being a very hard subject to tackle, kudos is deserved all round to the small but perfectly formed team behind this little gem. Ellen Page as the wide eyed Lolita character is remarkably engaging for an actor of her age only just turning 20 this year. She is destined for greater things for sure. With the story taking place almost entirely inside the plush bachelor pad of a thirty something photographer you would be forgiven for initialy feeling the story is going nowhere. This it seems is a further device to lure the viewer into a false sense of security. Shot beautifly with multiple lock off shots only further ramping up the tension and the colour schemes around the apartment in someway playing supporting characters. Patrick Wilson plays his part equally well as the yuppie lense-man but as stated earlier Page's character Hayley is superbly both maniacal and charming all in one. Well I dont want to give away to much needless to say "playtime's over, its time to wake up" < less
