Film Description

Although the least-known of the British Graham Greene adaptations, in spite of its entry at Cannes and four BAFTA nominations, this classic eagerly awaits rediscovery. Howard is excellent as Scobie, the complex protagonist who has difficulties dealing with his moral and Catholic guilt when he starts a passionate affair with a nineteen year old girl.
