Bleasdale's adaptation of this classic is glorious. The cast is of the highest quality. You just have to look at Sam Smith as Oliver and your heart breaks. Marc Warren is wonderfully hideous as Monks. Andy Serkis is the most frightening Bill Skikes ever to have been portrayed. The cast member who made the biggest impression of all is the young and overwhelmingly beautiful Sophia Myles. Her portrayal of the tragic Agnes is what acting is all about. Watch it! < less
