To celebrate the 70th anniversary of their partnership, 24 films starring legendary comedy duo Bud Abbott and Lou Costello are coming out on DVD - many for the first time. Described by Jerry Seinfeld as ‘giants of their time, who truly immortalised burlesque forever’, the pair began working together on stage and radio, before signing to Universal Studios in 1939. Here they remained box office kings for the next 20 years, dominating the face of American comedy, with their 1950s horror spoofs especially fondly remembered. The sheer comedic chemistry they generate make this boxset a terrific buy for fans of vaudeville laughs and breakneck delivery.
