Film Description

Produced by the legendary George Pal, adapted from a novel by the even more legendary Robert Heinlein, this film won a well-deserved Academy Award for its ground-breaking special effects sequences and was the first major science fiction film produced in the U.S. to lift the genre from the realm of the fantastic to the world of the believable. The race is on to be the first to reach the moon. Will it be the brave American boys or the dastardly Russians who succeed? Take a wild guess.
