Film Description

Tyrone Power plays American news correspondent Jake Barnes, who relocates to Paris after receiving serious injuries during WWI. Barnes there links up with several other lost souls, including the lascivious Lady Brett Ashley and drunkard Mike Campbell. In their search for thrills, they head to Spain for the annual Pamplona bull run. They can however find no lasting satisfaction in anything they encounter. Based on Ernest Hemingway's novel and with a cast of Hollywood greats, this was also the movie that gave rise to the line 'The kid stays in the picture', when Power, Gardner and Hemingway requested that Evans be removed from his role and Darryl Zannuck replied with those words.
