Film Description

Written by Willy Russell, this is the story of two Liverpool youths who go to the hills and valleys of Wales to enjoy a peaceful life, away from brushes with the police, the spectre of unemployment and the attentions of rival gangs. However, they don't find the idyllic life they were expecting and also have to contend with Kidder, a strange loner who may very well change their lives. Sharply observed and written with both sympathy and a sense of humour, this series was both a critical and a commercial success.
