Film Description

Stirring patriotic fare in which genuine newsreel footage is cleverly combined with new scenes to show one of Britain's great naval triumphs in the early months of the war. A newsreel journalist in South America captures the giant German battleship Graf Spee fleeing into Montevideo harbour after a punishing encounter with British warchips. As events unfold in an unexpected way, he is on hand with his camera to capture the dramatic end to the encounter.
