In this, the best TV series since Twin Peaks, every episode begins with a death. Whilst morbid, it is appropriate when the drama centres on a funeral home and the family who live there. The series is consistently intriguing, and wonderful to watch. Creator Alan Ball previously wrote American Beauty and for those who thought that the film perhaps promised more than it delivered, this series is where he produces the goods. Highly recommended.
