Dubbed and serialised for the BBC in the 1960’s, this beautiful, colourful, German fairytale tells the story of a Prince who wishes to win the hand of a beautiful but conceited Princess. He is set the task of bringing her the mythical Singing Ringing Tree from an enchanted garden, which is guarded by an evil dwarf. The dwarf lets him take the tree, but states that the prince must win the Princesses love by nightfall, or he will turn into a bear. The Prince returns with the tree, but the spoilt Princess scorns his love, thus transforming him into a bear. In this form, he kidnaps her and takes her to the enchanted garden, where, stripped of her power and beauty, she begins to learn the error of her ways. < less
