The epic story spans for a heart-rending, emotional but above all intelligent thirty-one years, and sees the friends endure divorce, life in an early high-rise development, anarchy, Alzheimer's disease, affairs, stock market crashes, changes in fortunes, freedom and political leanings and be moved by birth, death, success, failure and love.
