Buyer's Guide

An Introduction

The run of 8 movies Godard filmed between A Bout de Souffle and Two Or Three Things I Know About Her are often thought of to be the greatest consecutive sequence a director has ever filmed. The former film kicked of the French New Wave with a bang, whilst his later, more avant-garde works remain fresh and challenging. Often very political in his work, and a skilled exponent of Marxist rhetoric, he is one of the great French filmmakers.
